It’s a quiet morning, the birds are singing, and it’s still dark outside. I sit here thinking about decisions I’ve made and what will be next. For the past 15 years I’ve planned my dream of having a Greenhouse business and Shop. After attending college for Horticulture, it only drove me to want it more. I’ve always loved Nature and plants since I was a little girl. I even had a large 40′ greenhouse once, – I had helped erect it, ground up behind a florist- but circumstances not of my doing caused me to walk away from it, and that was NOT easy. Even lately I figured that I’d wait to have any Horticultural business until we moved onto farm land, and that could be 15 years from now! It already looks like a small nursery here. I grow most plants here from seed and propagation, which I love to do. Then I thought, why now start now? No matter how small?
So, the decision was made to just go for it. You see, gardening is my true love, my passion. I could be outside all day, all dirty and not care. You know that old saying, “do what you love”. SO, what does this mean for Nature Maiden products? Well, I haven’t figured all of that out yet.
I presume that I will eventually phase out (maybe in several years) some products, and keep a handful of select products. I’d like to start selling perennial plants and herbs. I will most likely start selling on Ebay first and see where it goes. Supplies have been ordered, and some things will soon be ready to sell and others to ‘grow on’. I imagine the 2012 season will be the most busy, because there is some preparation needed. As much as I love my soaps and stuff, the soap making process is a long, messy one, and I’d much rather be handling plants all day!
Not to worry though! I have lots of stock left as far as my products are concerned. It will be a very slow phasing out process of some products, not all. The Nature Maiden name is NOT going anywhere. It will just go through a gradual transition. As I mentioned, Nature Maiden products will still be around, but eventually on a smaller basis.
I’d love to hear your thoughts on this change.
Thank you!
